Welcome teacher friends! I’m Nicole Brown and I am the face behind Brownie Points. I am a primary teacher, avid learner, and accidental entrepreneur! Creating resources for teachers is a passion *nerd alert*. I treasure the opportunity to connect with educators all around the world and I’m humbled to know that my resources are helping students and teachers.

I began my career as a kindergarten teacher before moving to first grade with a brief stint in second grade. I love teaching primary - the children are so willing and eager to learn and provide unconditional love and admiration!

I graduated from the University of Toronto with majors in human biology and psychology and while I don’t use those advanced concepts I learned, I enjoy teaching science and math. I also love reading and picture books - it’s a problem ($$$)! Discovering and sharing diverse texts is a newfound interest.

Random Things:

  • I was born in Toronto, Ontario and now live nearby in a city called Brampton. If you’re from the area, I was actually born in pre-amalgamation Scarborough :)

  • I’m a huge procrastinator. In a way, it forces me to focus and get the job done in the final seconds of a deadline. Otherwise I will diddle-daddle and waste time.

  • I love staying up late. #NightOwlLife. Mornings become a drag though!

  • I love to travel and discover new places, but I also hate flying. It be like that sometimes!

  • I’m a lover of history and culture. I can spend HOURS in a museum and often get lost in a wikihole.
